3. What should I do now?

Please read the following to ensure you know what your consent means…

Consent

  • I confirm that I am 18 years old or older and that I live, work or study in West Sussex.
  • I confirm that I have read and understand the description of the research project, described on the What’s it all about? page.
  • I have had an opportunity to ask questions about the project via email: jmckenna-aspell1@sheffield.ac.uk
  • I understand that my participation is voluntary and that I am free to withdraw during the process of using Qsortouch without any negative consequences.
  • I understand that I may decline to answer any particular question or questions, or to do any of the activities.
  • I understand that at the end of the Qsortouch process I will be asked to submit my responses.
  • I understand that once my responses are submitted, they cannot be isolated and therefore cannot be deleted.
  • I understand that my responses will be kept strictly confidential, that my name or identity will not be collected or linked to any research materials, and that I will not be identified or identifiable in any report or reports that result from the research, unless I have agreed otherwise.
  • I give permission for all the research team members to have access to my responses. I give permission for the research team to re-use my data for future research as specified above.

By choosing to participate, I am agreeing to take part in the research project as described on the What’s it all about? page.

To access the online software, please read the definitions of library user and library non-user below and click the link which relates to you.

Library user

  • I am 18 years old or older.
  • I live, work or study in West Sussex.
  • If one or more of the following statements is true, for the purpose of this research, you are a library user:
    • I have visited a public library or public libraries in West Sussex within the last five years.
    • I have borrowed physical resources from a public library in West Sussex within the last five years.
    • I have borrowed eBooks, eMagazines or audiobooks from a public library in West Sussex within the last five years
    • My child / children have used the services in a public library in West Sussex within the last five years.
    • I have attended an event held at / organised by a public library in West Sussex within the last five years.
    • I have used the website, catalogue or online facilities of West Sussex Library Services within the last five years.
    • I have contacted a public library in West Sussex within the last five years, by phone, email or letter.
    • I have used the space in a public library in West Sussex within the last five years, for work, study, leisure, reading or social reasons.

Library non-user

  • I am 18 years old or older.
  • I live, work or study in West Sussex.
  • If all of the following statements are true, for the purpose of this research, you are a library non-user:
    • I have not visited a public library or public libraries in West Sussex within the last five years.
    • I have not borrowed physical resources from a public library in West Sussex within the last five years.
    • I have not borrowed eBooks, eMagazines or audiobooks from a public library in West Sussex within the last five years
    • My child / children have not used the services in a public library in West Sussex within the last five years.
    • I have not attended an event held at / organised by a public library in West Sussex within the last five years.
    • I have not used the website, catalogue or online facilities of West Sussex Library Services within the last five years.
    • I have not contacted a public library in West Sussex within the last five years, by phone, email or letter.
    • I have not used the space in a public library in West Sussex within the last five years, for work, study, leisure, reading or social reasons.
